Synopsis

This year Anna and Marc's vacations will be different. A few months after giving birth, Anna thinks they need to disconnect and has decided to exchange her house with Hans and Olga, an elderly German couple she met through a house exchange website. Despite Marc's initial misgivings, he ends up agreeing. Their relationship is not going through the best moment and the pregnancy seems to further strain the situation... and also Hans and Olga's house, in an idyllic town in the Black Forest, is of a comfort and luxury beyond their reach. Everything seems to be going great, but Anna begins to sense danger. At first it is something indefinable, small details. How does Marc deduce that there is a secret room in the heart of the house without any door or exterior opening. Or that the neighbor, Hans and Olga's daughter, invites them to a strange folklore festival in which witches are worshiped... But, after suffering a car accident, Marc's attitude begins to change and Anna's worries they increase in intensity. He is suddenly more affectionate towards her and the baby they are expecting, more mature, more seductive. Marc's care unnerves her... at times it even seems to her that Marc is not Marc. What is happening? Is Anna becoming paranoid or is there a hidden agenda behind this transformation? For their part, Hans and Olga abandon modesty and their affable appearance when they cross the doors of the couple's apartment. They search the house from top to bottom and make it theirs, removing everything like vermin. They delve into the privacy of their home... They systematically analyze Marc and Anna's behavior through the secrets that the house reveals to them. And little by little they prepare to carry out a disturbing ritual. Meanwhile, in the Black Forest, slowly, almost unintentionally, the house becomes for Anna and Marc a mold that transforms them more and more into Hans and Olga. Anna's suspicions about Marc's change become terrible certainties when she discovers what is in the secret room of the house and realizes Hans and Olga's sinister plan.
