Synopsis

In Breda, as in so many other small cities in full growth, a construction company wants to take advantage of the new times to build a luxury development in the suburbs. Although there are disagreements and fears among the partners regarding such an ambitious operation, the succulent anticipated benefits encourage them to undertake it. But suddenly the body of one of the partners appears in one of the newly built chalets. An obscure failed pianist, dedicated to supplementing his humble income by eliminating uncomfortable animals and pets, appears to be the prime suspect in the builder's death. It is then that the pianist hires the services of detective Ricardo Cupido so that he can exonerate him of the crime of which he is the main suspect. The protagonist then immerses himself in a fascinating investigation, where the alibis do not matter as much as the murky and desolate description of the human condition.
